Part V ~ Lesson 2 of 6 – The Timeline of the End

The Sequence of Endtime Events

Equipping God's Saints (Followers of Christ) through the prophecies of the End Times …

Let's look at the timeline we established for Daniel's 70th Week:

1,260 Days / 3 ½ years

1,260 Days / 3 ½ years

      C of C                                                                     A of D                                                   Trib. End

In Daniel's 70th Week, we know we have the Final 7 Years. It starts with the Confirmation of the Covenant (the signing of the Peace Treaty between Israel and Palestine). We then have a 3 ½ year period of time of relative peace on earth when the Antichrist is ascending and gaining his power. The Aboination of Desolation happens at the exact mid-point, which launches the Great Tribulation that lasts for 3 ½ years.

Most students of prophecy are more familiar with Daniel's 70th Week. Now we want to show how Daniel's 70th Week and the Seals / Trumpets / Vials correlate together. Let's look at the timeline that brings these both together.

First 3 ½ Years
Last 3 ½ Years
Culmination of Battle of Armageddon
6th Trump World War III

5th Seal Souls under altar
Great Tribulation
6th Seal 7th Trump All Vials
Confirmation of the Covenant
“Peace”
Abomination of Desolation
Wrath of Satan
Wrath of God

To quickly redefine terms:

Confirmation of the Covenant,
the Bible says, is when the Antichrist will confirm the covenant with many for a 7 year period. When this event happens, we know we have triggered the Final 7 Years to the Battle of Armageddon.

The Abomination of Desolation happens half-way through this 7 year period and is when the Antichrist will sit in the Temple of God and claim to be Messiah; claim to be God. Even during this time, during this first 3 ½ years, if a Temple is not built before the Confirmation of the Covenant, a Temple will have to be built in Jerusalem on the Temple Mount during this time.

Right now we are right in front of the Confirmation of the Covenant and very close to the time of the war that will kill 1/3 part of man. Right now we are on the brink of Daniel's 70th Week.

The first 3 ½ years of Daniel's 70th Week leading up to the Abomination of Desolation is a time of relative peace. As we move over on the timeline to the second half, we see that the 5th Seal is the souls under the altar crying out “Lord, when will You avenge our blood?”

We know this happened at the Abomination of Desolation because the 3rd Vial makes a reference to that. We talked about this Vial at length in an earlier lesson where we discussed we have the angel on the waters that is complimenting God for having judged righteously, and we have the souls under the altar who are complimenting God for having judged righteously. We know that when the angel on the waters does it, it was the launching of the 3 ½ years because it was a time, times, and a half a time.

The Abomination of Desolation begins the Great Tribulation which we indicate here on this chart as the Wrath of Satan. During this 3 ½ year period of time saints are killed. It is launched by a war in heaven involving Michael, the Archangel, having a war against the devil and his angels. Satan is cast out, possesses the Antichrist, who then commits the Abomination of Desolation.

3 ½ years later, the Great Tribulation ends. That ends the Wrath of Satan and we then enter into the period known as the Wrath of God. The Wrath of Satan is the Great Tribulation.

As the Bible puts it, immediately after the tribulation of those days, shall we see the 6th Seal / 7th Trumpet / All Vials. This is the Wrath of God. Take note as we look at this timeline, we have the Wrath of Satan followed by the Wrath of God.

We know that the Wrath of Satan, the Great Tribulation, is 3 ½ years long. The Wrath of God is not 3 ½ years long, but is a very short segment of time that occurs just after the Great Tribulation.

Another big misconception is that many people think the Wrath of Satan is the first 3 ½ years of Daniel's 70th Week and that the Wrath of God is the second 3 ½ years. That cannot be true because Jesus said in Matthew 24:
“When you see the Abomination of Desolation spoken of by Daniel, the prophet, then shall be great tribulation such as never has been before, nor ever again shall be.”

It is critical to understand that the Great Tribulation begins at the Abomination of Desolation and it occupies the last 3 ½ years of Daniel's 70th Week. Then at the end of the tribulation, immediately, we go into a very short segment of time called the Wrath of God. All of this culminates at the Battle of Armageddon.

This is a culmination of cataclysmic, apocalyptic events that all are poured out. It actually appears that God uses the Vials against the invading armies of the world government forces led by Russia. These forces are coming down against the city of Jerusalem and the Bible says in Ezekiel 38, “I will plead against Gog with blood, with pestilence, with fire, with hailstones."

This brings up another point. The Vials are localized events, not worldwide events. We are told in Ezekiel 38 that the great hail falls upon the invading armies of Armageddon.

It is easy to understand this because the plagues of Egypt were localized. When God delivered the children from Egypt, he used the plagues against Egypt. The whole world didn't experience frogs in their sinks, flies, all of these plagues that are described in the Old Testament. The plagues were only against the Egyptians. They were not against the Israelites. The Israelites were protected from this wrath of God.

Keeping this in mind, know that Wrath of Satan will be against the Saints of God and Saints will be killed. But immediately following the Great Tribulation, the Saints of God will not be subject to the Wrath of God.

Coming up we will look at the timelines (plural) of the Wrath of God. We will see that during this very short period of time we are going to see lots and lots of events.
