Part II ~ Lesson 2 of 6 – Seals, Trumpets and Vials

The Sequence of Endtime Events

Equipping God's Saints (Followers of Christ) through the prophecies of the End Times …

An area that people hardly talk about are the 7 Vials. There is not a lot of understanding to them. The 7 Vials are:

1. Sores on those who take the Mark of the Beast
2. Sea becomes blood
3. Rivers, fountains become blood
4. Men scorched by sun
5. Darkness fills Satan's kingdom
6. Euphrates River dries up
7. Armageddon

As far as the sequence of the endtime events goes, we see that the 1^st Vial is not poured out until the Mark of the Beast is implemented. We already know that the Mark of the Beast will not be implemented until the Great Tribulation. We know that the Antichrist will be revealed at the beginning of the Great Tribulation, 3 ½ years into the 7 year period after the signing of the peace treaty. Consequently, we will be in the Tribulation Period before any of the Vials are opened.

God sees the Vials as something very important by designating 2 chapters strictly to the Vials. Revelation 15 sets the stage for the 7 Vials and Revelation 16 discusses them. Revelation 15:1 says:

“And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.”

The wrath of God is filled up in these Vials. We talk about the wrath of Satan, which is the Great Tribulation, but here we are going to talk about the wrath of God, when God pours out His wrath upon the earth.

There are a lot of things going on in our world right now. A lot of people are thinking that God is just letting it slide. The Bible says that because judgment is not executed speedily against an evil deed, it is set in the hearts of men to do evil, continually.

If you are in a situation where you are living a life-style of sin and you are violating God's Word, it would really be a mistake to think that God is not going to do anything. That's not true. The wrath of God is being bottled up and we are approaching the time when it's going to be poured out.

We know that the Vials contain the wrath of Almighty God. Moving on, Revelation 15:2-6 states:

“And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.

And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened:

And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.”

This passage is setting the stage for the seven angels that have the seven last plagues.

Another thing that is really interesting that you will want to notice is that there were plagues that were poured out on the enemies of the children of Israel when they were delivered from Egypt. The Seven Vials, here, are very similar to the seven plagues that God used in the Old Testament. These Seven Vials are going to be used against the enemies of the nation of Israel in the near future, just like the plagues were used against the armies of Pharaoh in the Old Testament times.

In Revelation 15:5, we have the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven, opened. Out of the temple came the seven angels having the Seven Vials with the seven last plagues. We are going to draw a parallel with this and something we have already read.

We have already read the account of the Seven Trumpets. Revelation 11:15 & 19 say this about the 7^th Trumpet:

“And the seventh angel sounded...

And the temple of God was opened in heaven [this is the same incident preceding all of the Vials being opened], and there was seen in his temple the ark of this testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.”

We can conclude without any doubt that all Seven Vials, not just the 7^th Vial, are poured out during the time of the 7^th Trumpet. We also can conclude without any doubt: The Wrath of God = 6^th Seal / 7^th Trumpet / All Seven Vials. You will see that the Wrath of God all happens after the tribulation, so we are talking about a very short period of time right around the Battle of Armageddon.

Remember from our previous lesson:

• The Seals are the Long Story ending at Armageddon.
• The Trumpets are the Shorter Story ending at Armageddon.
• The Vials are the Really Short Story ending at Armageddon.

We know that the 7^th Trumpet is an era. It's not just a moment in time. Coming up, we will discuss Revelation 10:7 in more depth. It tells us:

“When the 7^th Trumpet BEGINS to sound, the mystery of God should be finished...”

The mystery they are speaking of is the Great Tribulation, the final 3 ½ years of the 7 year period. We will also find out that the 7^th Trumpet begins sounding after the Wrath of Satan ~ after the Great Tribulation. This is how we will know that all 7 Vials will be poured out after the Wrath of Satan ~ during the Wrath of God.
