Part III ~ Lesson 6 of 8 – The Great Tribulation

The Sequence of Endtime Events

Equipping God's Saints (Followers of Christ) through the prophecies of the End Times …

The last passage we will discuss in this analysis of the Wrath of Satan is the passage of the two witnesses. We will find that this period of time that they prophecy for is during the Great Tribulation. The passage is Revelation 11:3-12:

“And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.

And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.

These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

And when they shall have finished their testimony [this is the end of the 1,260 days], the beast [the Antichrist] that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified [Jerusalem].

And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.

And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.

And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.

And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.

And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.”

This passage shows us that it is not just the False Prophet that will have power. These two witnesses from God will have power. They will be doing some miracles. Power is given to the Antichrist for 42 months to persecute the woman. But we see in this passage that power is also given to the two witnesses.

Even though these are great men of God and are sent by God, God allows them to be killed. Even Jesus was allowed to be killed, but not until He was finished. In like manner, these two witnesses will not be allowed to be killed until they are finished with the ministry and purpose that God gave them.

When these two witnesses are killed, you can hit your stopwatch. They will be resurrected in 3 ½ days. They are going up into heaven.

Why are people celebrating and giving gifts to one another? Because the world has been purged from these prominent enemies of the new world order.

In summarizing Revelation 11:3-12 regarding the ministry of the two witnesses:

• Power to Two Witnesses for 1,260 days
• Beast makes war against these two saints
• Beast overcomes and kills them
• (Great voice from heaven)

Power is also given to Satan for 42 months. It appears that Satan's great act of power is killing the two witnesses because Satan is out of power at the same time period as when the two witnesses are finished.

With completion of studying Revelation 11:3-12, let's put all these passages onto our chart so we can understand, better, the Wrath of Satan.

This shows us that we have accounts of the Great Tribulation in the Book of Daniel Chapter 7; all over the Book of Revelation in Chapters 6,10, 12 and 13; 2 Thessalonians; Matthew 24. You are looking at accounts of the same event throughout all of the Bible.

Looking at these 10 passages, once we have this overview and then we go back to think about the Timeline we established about the 70^th Week of Daniel where we see we have the Confirmation of the Covenant beginning the final 7 years; Then after the first 1,260 days comes the Abomination of Desolation; Then after another 1,260 days comes the Great Tribulation. This is how the whole thing is going to converge together.

Remember the Timeline we established several days ago about the Seals, the Trumpets and the Vials. We established, the 5^th Seal appears to be at the time of the Abomination of Desolation. We also learned that at the end of the Tribulation, the 7^th Trumpet begins to sound.

Coming up, we will merge these two Timelines together.
