Part III ~ Lesson 1 of 8 – The Great Tribulation

The Sequence of Endtime Events

Equipping God's Saints (Followers of Christ) through the prophecies of the End Times …

We are living in the Endtimes, right now. So far, you have learned the key to understanding the Book of Revelation. You have learned that everything in the Book of Revelation are things that “are seen”, “are” or “hereafter”. You then learned about the Seals, the Trumpets and the Vials. Now you will learn about the Great Tribulation.

It is much talked about in scripture. We are going to look at the events of the Great Tribulation. It appears where we are right now, that the Great Tribulation is just ahead of us.

In our last lesson, we made a timeline that shows the relationship between the Seals, Trumpets and Vials. We will now make a timeline that merges this timeline together with the timeline of Daniel's 70^th Week / The Final 7 Years.

As a quick review, let's look again at the timeline of the Seals, Trumpets and Vials:

Again, the first 4 Seals cover several hundreds of years. We are not absolutely sure when each, Catholicism, Communism, Capitalism and Islam actually came into affect, but we know Catholicism may have begun as early as around 325 AD and all 4 were opened by the beginning of the 20^th Century. Next, 5 of the Trumpets have already sounded and we are on the verge of the 6^th Trumpet sounding, right now. Coming up, we will discuss in depth the 5^th Seal ~ the Souls under the altar. We will find out who these are. After the 5^th Seal, we will move into the Great Tribulation where the 6^th Seal, 7^th Trumpet and All Vials will be opened. Then following the Great Tribulation will be a period of silence in heaven for the space of ½ hour. Whether that is a literal ½ hour, or not, we are not sure.

We are now going to focus on The Final 7 Years ~ Daniel's 70^th Week.

When we talk about Daniel's 70^th Week being the same as the Final 7 Years, it is safe to say that we know that each week is a week of years. It's easy to prove that the last half of the week is 3 ½ years. The Abomination of Desolation in Daniel 9:27 happens in the middle of this thing called Daniel's 70^th Week. From the Abomination of Desolation to the Battle of Armageddon, we can prove conclusively that it is a period of 3 ½ years. The logic is, if the last half of Daniel's 70^th week is 3 ½ years, then the first half must be 3 ½ years, which establishes that this 70^th Week is 7 years long. Each day represents 1 year. Let's now take a look at Daniel 9:27:

“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”

Notice the terms we have here:

• The Confirmation of the Covenant
• The 1 Week
• The Abomination of Desolation which happens in the midst of the week.

Let's look at the timeline we established for Daniel's 70^th Week:

The 3 ½ year period from the Confirmation of the Covenant to the Abomination of Desolation is a time of peace. It is when the Antichrist is rising to power. Then the last 3 ½ year period will not be a time of peace. It will be the Wrath of Satan ~ the Great Tribulation ~ the Wrath of God.

As we go into more depth in the scriptures to explain the Wrath of Satan, we will discuss:

• War in heaven led by Michael
• Antichrist blasphemes God
• Abomination of Desolation
• 3 ½ years
• Saints are killed

Coming up, we will compare 10 scriptures with the above events and build on the following chart that will show the difference between the Wrath of Satan and the Wrath of God and how the Final 3 ½ years known as the Great Tribulation is actually the Wrath of Satan.
