Part II ~ Lesson 4 of 6 – Seals, Trumpets and Vials

The Sequence of Endtime Events

Equipping God's Saints (Followers of Christ) through the prophecies of the End Times …

We have covered the 1^st Vial ~ sores have been poured out on the people who have taken the Mark of the Beast.

The 2^nd Vial is found in Revelation 16:3. It says:

“And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.”

I see the “seas” as meaning the “oceans”. Then the 3^rd Vial is poured out on different waters. Revelation 16:4 says:

“And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters, and they became blood.”

I believe this to be the drinking waters. Continuing with Revelation 16:5-6, we see a commentary about this 3^rd Vial:

“And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.

For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.”

We will learn more about who the “angel of the waters” is a little later. This passage ends on a sarcastic note stating that they are worthy to drink the blood because they shed the blood of the saints (followers of Christ).

This is a totally different picture of God than what we are getting of Him, right now. Right now we are watching people say that no matter what you do ~ you can be married 10 times ~ you can live with someone, unmarried ~ you can do any kind of an immoral act you want to do ~ you can lie ~ you can cheat ~ you can steal ~ but you are still saved.

This passage isn't painting that picture very well. It's saying that you've given them blood to drink. Now they are worthy to drink the blood. They have been evil ~ they have been sinful ~ they have been unrepentant.

This is God's Word. You can do with it what you want to do with it, but I think the time has come for us to go back and re-evaluate this “loose, easy, everybody's a Christian” lifestyle. We tend to think of God as a first-aid kit. We keep Him around just in case we need Him. Then we pull Him out and say we're all saved. Guess what, Dear Ones … That's not the way it works.

I hope you will take this seriously. We are not talking about things that MAY happen. We are talking about things that WILL happen. It's going to affect every single one of us. We are all going to be involved in these things. The only ones who will not be affected by these plagues are those whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life and those who have the Seal of God on their foreheads. We have to make sure that we don't just brush these things off. As sure as the other prophecies have come to pass, these are getting ready to come to pass.

The Bible says we should give all diligence to make our calling and election sure. We need to know, for sure, right where we stand with God. This is not just some interesting teaching. This is for all the marbles. This is what we are living for.

The angel of the waters, essentially, is giving God a High 5. “Thou art righteious, O Lord, … because thou hast judged thus. You gave them blood to drink. Good for you.”

Continuing after the 3^rd Vial is poured out, Revelation 16:7 says:

“And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.”

We are looking at 2 angels, the angel of the waters and the angel out of the altar, giving God a High 5 for judging justly and righteously. Speaking of the angel of the waters in other passages:

Revelation 10:5 says:

“And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea...”

Daniel 12:6 says:

“And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?”

Who are those out of the altar? Let's take a look at the 5^th Seal in Revelation 6:9-10:

“And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?”

Under the Vials in Revelation Chapter 17, they are saying, “You've done it! You have judged them.”

Under the 5^th Seal in Revelation Chapter 6, they are saying, “When will you do something about all this? How long until you do something?”

The 3^rd Vial is the answer to the question posed in the 5^th Seal. In establising our sequence, we can place the 5^th Seal before the 3^rd Vial. Coming up, I will be able to put up a timeline showing the 1^st, Trumpet … 2^nd Trumpet … 1^st Seal … 2^nd Seal … etc … This is how it is all going to unfold … and You are here.

Now for the 4^th Vial. Revelation 16:8-9 says:

“And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.

And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.”

I don't know how God is going to choose to do this. Whether if be through global warming, if there really is such a thing, I don't know.

This all causes us to wonder …

What does it take to bring man into repentance? Does it take God being gracious with love and blessing after blessing? Men don't repent.

Does it take scorching them with great heat, as in the pouring out of the 4^th Vial? The answer is “No”. They repented not.

Just what does it take to get people to acknowledge and accept God? Keep in mind, the war that kills 2 billion people will have happened, already, and they still didn't repent. Surly, some people will wake up and repent, but this is truly astounding. As Jesus said, “We are telling you these things now, so that when they come to pass, you might believe.”

But as a whole, men are not going to repent even when scorched with heat from the pouring out of the 4^th Vial. How rebellious, how unbelieving can people be? The reason they are not going to repent is because they are going to say, “This isn't God.” They will believe it to be whatever they want to believe ~ but not God.
