Equipping
God's Saints (Followers of Christ) through the Prophecies of the
End Times …
When
we talk about this mark, will this mark be a visible mark? Will this
be a 666 on your hand or forehead? Or will it be invisible?
I
can't tell you for sure whether it will be visible or invisible, but
I definitely believe it's going to be a physical mark. I believe that
because you have to have something that enables you to buy or sell.
We
know right now that when you get some kind of an ID card, they like
your fingerprints or they like your eye scan. That's a little bit
disconcerting because the prophecy says that the mark will be in your
hand or in your forehead. Well, my fingerprints are on my hand and
my iris, my retina that the machines read, is in my forehead. Could
it be what this prophecy is talking about?
Or
could it be talking about just a national ID card. You can either
hold the ID card in your hand, or you can memorize your number in
your head. I don't know the answer for sure right now. All I can tell
you is this time is coming and it's coming right ahead of us. The
technology is being set up right now.
In
the rest of the passage, Revelation 13:18 says:
“Here
is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the
beast: for it is the number of a man, and his number is Six hundred
threescore and six.” ~ 666.
The
passage says that this is the number of a man. Could it be the
Antichrist's social security number? Or somehow could we calculate
the name of a man and interpret into 666?
Notice
the passage says, “Let him that hath understanding count [or
calculate] the number of the beast.” And notice in verse 17 that
it's,
“The number of his name.”
Somehow,
apparently, the name of the Antichrist, or of his world government,
is going to calculate to 666. Here are a couple of examples that may
help you imagine what this is going to be like.
Back
when Ronald Reagan was President, there were some people that thought
Reagan could be the Antichrist. His name is Ronald Wilson Reagan.
Each name has 6 letters in it, which could calculate to 666.
Obviously, Reagan was not the Antichrist. He's now dead and gone.
There
is an inscription in the crown of the Pope. The inscription is in
Latin and it says, “Vicarius Filii Dei.” It's Latin for “Vicar
of the Son of God” ~ Vicar, or Representative, of the Son of God.
The Catholics believe that the Pope is in the place of Jesus Christ
on earth today.
Now,
if you take the letters in Vicarius Filii Dei that stand for Roman
numerals, that have Roman numeral value, it's interesting what
happens when you add up the Roman numerals in the words. (The A,R, S,
F and E are skipped because they have no Roman numeral values.)

Add
them all up and you will see they add up to 666. Does that mean the
Pope is the Antichrist? No. We've already demonstrated in a previous
lesson that whoever is Pope at the time of the Antichrist will be in
alliance with the Antichrist and will play the role of the False
Prophet. So, I don't think we could say that Vicarius Filii Dei
fulfills the requirement of the prophecy. But you do have to admit
that it's interesting since the Bible says,
“Let
him that hath understanding, let him count the number of the beast,
for it's the number of the name of a man.”
Also
notice in Revelation 14:9 that it tells us what's going to happen to
the person that takes the mark. Revelation 14:9-11 says:
“And
the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, if any man
worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his
forehead, or in his hand,
The
same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out
without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be
tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels,
and in the presence of the Lamb:
And
the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they
have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and
whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.”
What
is this saying to us?
The
cost for taking the Mark of the Beast and worshiping the Antichrist
will be eternal damnation. That's the reason this is such a serious
subject.
The
Bible teaches us that some people will refuse the Mark of the Beast
and they will be killed because of their refusal. It says in
Revelation 20:4-6:
“And
I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto
them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness
of Jesus, and for the word of God and which had not worshipped the
beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their
foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ
a thousand years.
But
the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were
finished. This is the first resurrection.
Blessed
and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection on such the
second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of
Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.”
This
is going to be happening during the final 3 ½ years immediately
preceding Armageddon and the First Ressurection. When this happens,
these people will not be dead long because the Bible says when Christ
comes back, the dead will be resurrected. They may be dead a year or
two or three. It's not going to be long. Then they are going to be
resurrected and the Bible tells us this is the First Resurrection.
Will
some people refuse the Mark of the Beast and survive? Absolutely.
The
Antichrist will not be in control of every part of the world. Daniel
11:41 tells us:
“He
shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be
overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and
Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.”
All
three of these locations are inside the country of Jordan.
The
Bible also tells us that the nation of Israel will never fall under
the control of the Antichrist. Revelation 12:14 tells us that “The
woman with 12 stars [The 12 stars symbolize the 12 tribes of Israel]
Revelation 12:14 says:
“The
woman will be protected from the Antichrist during the final three
and one-half years.”
This
is during the time we call the Great Tribulation.
Furthermore
it says in Daniel 11:44:
“The
tidings out of the east and north shall trouble him...”
The
Antichrist is going to have opposition. He will be fighting wars all
during that last period of time.
When
you take a look at the Antichrist and this Mark of the Beast, it's
important that we realize that some will take it, some will not. The
ones who take it, the Bible says that they will be cast into Lake of
Fire and they will be tormented in the presence of the Holy Land.
You
can argue with this if you want to, but it's in YOUR Bible. It's in
Revelation 14:9-11. It's serious.
This
is CRITICAL. The Bible says, everybody will take this Mark except
those whose names are in the Lamb's Book of Life. Make sure YOUR NAME
is in the Lamb's Book of Life.
