Part 1 of 4 - USA in the Bible and the 4 Beasts of Daniel

Equipping God's Saints (Followers of Christ) through the prophecies of the End Times ...

Over 2500 years ago, the United States 

of America was prophesied in the 

Bible.

A lot of Prophecy is written in symbols. What do these symbols stand for? Fortunately, in most prophesies, we don't have to guess. Most of the time as you continue reading in the chapter the prophecy is given that you will also find that the symbols are interpreted for us. We don't have to resort to some private interpretation.

Today I will lay a foundation that we will build upon in order to understand the position of the United States in prophecy.

In Daniel 7:1-3, Daniel saw 4 beasts:

1. A Lion with Eagle's Wings
2. A Bear
3. A Leopard with Four Heads
4. A 10-Horned Beast

Daniel 7:17 tell us:

“These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.”

Daniel 7:23 states:

“The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth which shall be diverse from all kingdoms and shall devour the whole earth.”

From these two verses, we can determine that these Beasts each symbolize a kingdom or a nation along with the ruler of that kingdom or nation.

Question #2 is, When will these nations exist?

Daniel 7:9 states:

“I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit.”

This is describing the transition from the kingdom of human government to the Kingdom of God. The Bible repeatedly teaches us that when the Kingdom of God comes, He will remove all human governments and He will establish a Kingdom that will never pass away and never be destroyed.

So Daniel has seen these 4 beasts, their thrones are now cast down, and Jesus Christ is crowned King of Kings and Lord of Lords and we move into the 1000 year reign of Jesus Christ, which is called in scripture, the Kingdom of God.

In Daniel 7:11, Daniel backs up a minute as though he forgot to tell us something and states:

“I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake, I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.”

What is “the horn”?

The 4^th Beast on our list is The 10-Horned Beast. Later in our lessons we will learn exactly who these 10 horns actually are. But I will say, scripture tells us these 10 horns are 10 kings which will form a federation and out of these 10 kings another will raise up, uproot 3 of them and will become very great and THAT horn becomes the Antichrist. The scriptures tell us these horns are kings.

So we have one beast / one kingdom, but 10 kings apparently in alliance and then another comes after them, uproots 3 becomes great and, from this chapter, that man rules the entire world until Jesus comes. We know from other scriptures that the Antichrist will rule the world until Jesus comes, so this horn is the Antichrist.

Daniel 7:9 and Revelation 19:20 teach us that when Jesus Christ comes, the Antichrist and his religious partner, the False Prophet, are going to be cast into the lake of fire and Satan will also be bound for 1000 years in the bottomless pit.

We are dealing with the time when Jesus Christ comes back and destroys the Antichrist.

Daniel 7:12 is extremely important! It is referring to the other 3 beasts mentioned in the prophecy of Daniel 7:1-3 and states:

“As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and a time.”

This is a critical point. They have their dominion taken away when the Antichrist is destroyed. We know that happens at the end of human government and the beginning of the Kingdom of God. The rest of these nations have their power taken away but yet their lives are going to be prolonged into the millennium.

This is telling us that all these nations in this prophecy will exist on the earth at the time that the Antichrist is killed by Jesus Christ. They are all going to be on the earth at the time of the Second Coming. Another way to look at this is, Jesus Christ will return to earth during the lifetime of these nations.

Tomorrow we will look and see what nations are represented by the Lion, Bear, Leopard, and 10-Horned Beast and we will see that these nations exist today.
